The last couple of weeks have been very wet and sketching outdoors has been off the menu. Today, at last, we had warm spring sunshine and I had a day off!
I made the most of the sunshine with a trip to Devonport, the southern tip of North Shore. The Central Business District is a stone’s throw across the water but Devonport is quaint and slow-paced with lots of attractive heritage buildings and trendy cafes.
My first sketch stop was at Stanley Bay, looking towards the city. A couple of Chinese tourists stopped to look at my sketch and then took pictures of me! I’ll probably be famous somewhere without knowing it…

Glad to see your sketching pen back in action. The ‘tourist’ may have been an agent of the state looking for ideas to copy. Another conspiracy theory is born. xxx
